Commercial banking onboarding, whether to a credit or treasury process, tends to be plagued with data and customer experience challenges at most FIs. Further, internal processes are complicated, redundant, manual, error prone, and the delays can invoke abandonment. But it turns out the data and capabilities required for solving the onboarding problem are already at hand. Lenders possess data needed when treasury management is onboarding a new user and when underwriting an existing depositor; and treasury management often has the data needed by lenders. What seems to be missing is a reliable form of collaboration among these tribes. Combining folks from the lending and treasury management worlds, this panel will identify best practices and tips for collaboration that can improve onboarding.
