Steve joined Cadence Bank in 2019 as the Director of Retail Banking, where he coordinated the strategy, sales execution and product development for the Retail Bank consisting of 400 branches and more than 3000 employees throughout 9 states. Steve is located in Birmingham, AL and now serves in a similar role within the Community Bank as the Executive Managing Director of Branch Banking. Prior to joining Cadence in late 2019, he spent 16 years at BBVA Compass Bank as the Regional Retail and Mortgage Executive for Alabama and Florida leading the sales and management of 133 branches with $6.7 billion in deposits and 790 employees. Previously, Steve held several other leadership positions at BBVA Compass including City President for Pensacola, FL, Senior District Retail Executive in Houston, TX and Central Alabama, among others. He began his banking career at AmSouth Bank in Birmingham and is a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Texas Executive Leadership Program.
